I bought this BBQ for my husband to replace an old propane BBQ. It took several days to get a plummer out to install the natural gas line but my husband has since been using the BBQ daily. It has many great features such as the searing station and hide-a-way rotisserie. He is cooking like a PRO and is very pleased!

This is an excellent grill with simple assembly instructions. I was very surprised to discover that Weber does not include one of their grill cookbooks with this unit. Anyone spending over $900 for a grill should at least receive one of weber's many cookbooks with their purchase!

First time use was a pleasure, all that I expected. I have used the grill once with huge success, based on the crowd pleasing ribs it produced. It got very hot, very quickly, but also maintained a nice low heat once I got used to burner adjustments. I'm new to Weber gas grills (I love my kettle) but I'm no stranger to their reputation of quality and consistency.



I looked and looked at the competition, half hoping to find something that would sway me away from a Weber, but I kept coming back to "old" reliable Weber. Sure lots of other grills offered more bells and whistles(searing burners, fridge, IR rear burners)at the same price point, but none seemed to offer the material and build quality of the Weber line. Plus I feel confident that when it's time for parts, I'll actually find them for my Weber, not so with some discontinued brand X competitor.



Now I will admit that I wish Weber had gone to front-mount controls by now on the Spirit and Genesis lines as they have for some time with the Summit line. If I have one knock on the grill, it would be on burner layout. Time will tell if it becomes an issue or not. Based on reviews and product demos on [...], I don't suspect that it will.



Overall great grill but not cheap, at the end of the day you end up trading features for quality. I'll take quality all day.

Based on other reviews and the high caliber of the Weber line, I purchased this grill. The shipment actually arrived the day before it was promised. No damage.

The instructions, once I figured out how to use them, were the best I've ever encountered. It took 10-15 minutes to figure them out, since they were pictoral and had virtually no narrative explanation. For each step, one had to consult three different sheets. Weber would do a service by including a sheet explaining this to the assembler. Once the assembly instructions were understood, it took only about 1-1/2 hours to put the grill together. The materials are solid, and the design is appealing.

The grill works like a charm! Heat control is accurate. A nice cookbook is included, and it includes tips on how to maximize the utility of the grill.

I couldn't recommend it more highly!



7/14/09--I've edited this review to reflect 3 months of hard use. I continue to be delighted with it. It is very, very easy to clean using just Windex. I bought one of the griddle accessories (Weber 7532 Cast Iron Griddle)that Weber makes specifically for the grill, and you can turn out dozens of sliders in no time. (We made 180 for a graduation party!)

Doing chicken, burgers, steaks, and fish is a snap. I did need a bit of time to appreciate how hot this natural gas model will get, but the heat controls allow both direct and indirect heat.

Finally, I elected to buy the Veranda Cart Barbecue Cover, Medium, Pebble, up to 58-inches Wide cover rather than the Weber cover. The large size fits this grill perfectly. This cover is sturdy and very attractive.

Our son purchased the Weber S-310 (best prices are from Amazon)and we enjoyed food from his grill. So we purchased the S-320 with the side burner. This grill produces evenly cooked and very moist foods. Another bonus is no more propane tanks to buy! We love it! We also purchased the Weber grill cover and light that fits to the handle for evening cooking. Thank you Amazon for the speedy delivery.

Great grill, cooks well, however...



1)Box arrived with exterior damage. The grill has a gash in the stainless steel lid. Now every time I cook I get to contemplate what CEVA trucking could have stabbed through the box. Weber could also do a better job of packaging so that the most visible part of the grill is not the front bumper for this type of abuse. If the package arrives in damaged condition don't accept it.



2) Weber decided to put the in the clevis pins holding the lid to the oven with out the securing clips. The result is disastrous. One pin fell out during shipping. When the lid is opened it twists side ways and drops over the back, bending the sole pin 90 degrees. If this had broken the pot metal hinge on the oven it would be the end of the line for Weber S-320



3) Don't undertake assembly unless you get a true sense of accomplishment from that sort of ordeal. Took about four hours. Get and electric screwdriver and a socket wrench.

I've had my grill for about a month now and have no complaints. Everything arrived intact with no shipping problems. Assembly was completed in about an hour and was not overly complex. In fact the directions were far clearer than most self-assembly items.



As for performance, the grill works well and it's nice being able to cook something that takes a long time without worrying about running out of gas. I wanted a natural gas grill for a long time but I kept waiting for my old Weber (Silver) to give up the ghost...it never did. I finally just found a place to donate it.



The starter seems much improved. It's not real sturdy but it doesn't need to be either; just takes a light push. One nice thing is that it works after heavy rain with no issue. My old manual 'red button' light would fail when wet.



One other thing that's sneaky nice is that it easy to move around. While tethered to the gas supply, the hose is still very long and the wheels reasonably sturdy. Plus with no propane tank the wheel action is more balanced and lighter. This provides a nice feature on my patio. I can pull it out when needed, but easily get it off to the side when not grilling. I was considering a built-in type, but this is far better for me.



Considering my past experience with a Weber grill, I expect to have this one for a long time.

ARRIVAL TIME: Earlier than expected.

CARRIER: Right to the door. Friendly and Helpful.

ASSEMBLY: Easy and some items already pre-assembled.

About 3 hours from opening the box to turning on the gas. All parts in the box and all engineered for easy and accurate fit.

Assmbly instructions written well and easily understood.

COOKING: I could not ask for anything more.

PRICE: More reasonable than the major outlets in my area. The Natural Gas hookup unit comes as more expensive, but still a better buy than at the store. Plus, delivery from Amazon quicker than from the store, because at my stores the Natural Gas units had to get special ordering at higher prices. And, right to my garage in the case of the Amazon order.

... item arrived in Cleveland and rather than ship it out to me they let it sit in the warehouse ... called and told me they could not deliver until Monday at the earliest ... very poor delivery service ... guess they are not interested in working on Saturday...never had this problem with FEDEX or UPS I could have bought the same item from Home Depot for same price ($519.00) with 24 hour shipping...would have cost an extra $50.00 but at least I would have had the grill over the weekend...guess a good deal is only as good as the after the sale service...very disappointed...first thing I bought via Amazon that did not meet my expectations.

I am very happy with this grill. It is a little more expensive than similar grills, but the quality really shows. It is very sturdy, the grill is solid, drip pans are included, etc. You will not be dissapointed.
